DESCRIPTION
The center airbag sensor consists of the airbag sensor, safing sensor, drive circuit, diagnosis circuit, ignition control, etc.
If the center airbag sensor receives signals from the airbag sensor, it determines whether the SRS should be activated.
DTC B1000/31 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the center airbag sensor.

When a trouble code is output simultaneously with B1000/31, repair the malfunction indicated by the other code first.
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Click here).
When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal while performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).
When a trouble code is output simultaneously with B1000/31, repair the malfunction indicated by the other code (except B1000/31) first.
PROCEDURE
CHECK FOR DTC
Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Check for DTCs.

CAUTION:If only DTC B1000/31 is output, do not clear the DTCs. Instead, immediately replace the center airbag sensor assembly.
Tip:If any DTCs other than DTC B1000/31 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.
