CLUTCH UNIT(for C553A) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE MULTI-MODE MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE SHIFT STROKE SENSOR

      Remove the 2 screws and shift stroke sensor from the shift and select actuator.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the shift stroke sensor.

  3. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE FORK LEVER

      Remove the E-ring from the clutch release fork lever.

    2. C114034

      Remove the clip from the clutch release bearing assembly.

    3. C308754

      Remove the clutch release fork lever and clutch release fork from the multi-mode transaxle assembly.

  4. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE BEARING ASSEMBLY

    1. C308755

      Remove the clutch release bearing assembly from the clutch release fork.

  5. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE FORK LEVER SHAFT OIL SEAL

    1. C114036

      Using a screwdriver, remove the clutch release fork lever shaft oil seal from the multi-mode transaxle assembly.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 CLUTCH HOUSING COVER

      Remove the No. 1 clutch housing cover from the multi-mode manual transaxle assembly.

  7. REMOVE CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY

      Matchmark

      Put matchmarks on the clutch cover assembly and flywheel sub-assembly.

    2. Loosen each bolt 360° at a time until the spring tension is released.

    3. Remove the 6 bolts and pull off the clutch cover assembly with the clutch disc assembly.

      Note:

      • Do not drop the clutch disc assembly.

      • Always replace the clutch cover assembly and the clutch disc assembly as a set.

  8. REMOVE CLUTCH DISC ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the clutch disc assembly.

      Note:

      Keep the lined part of the clutch disc assembly, the pressure plate, and the surface of the flywheel sub-assembly away from oil and foreign matter.
