AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM (for Radio Receiver Type) Speaker Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The sound signals amplified by the radio receiver assembly are sent to the speakers from the radio receiver assembly via the speaker circuit.

If there is a short in a speaker circuit, the radio receiver assembly detects it and stops output to the speakers.

Thus sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is not a malfunction in the radio receiver assembly or speakers.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPEAKER CIRCUIT)


    • *1: for RH Side

    • *2: for LH Side

    • *3: except 2 Speakers


    1. Disconnect the R1 and/or R2*3 radio receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the S16*1 and/or S15*2 front No. 1 speaker assembly connector.

    3. for Double Cab:

      Disconnect the T24*1 and/or T23*2 front No. 2 speaker assembly connector.

    4. for Double Cab:

      Disconnect the S18*1 and/or S17*2 rear speaker assembly connector.

    5. for Extra Cab:

      Disconnect the S20*1 and/or S19*2 rear speaker assembly connector.

  3. CHECK FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the front No. 2 speaker with a known good one Click here.

    2. Check that the malfunction disappears.

      Tech Tips


      • Connect all the connectors that were disconnected from the No. 2 speaker assemblies.

      • When there is a possibility that either the right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.

      • Perform the above inspection on both LH and RH sides.
