QUARTER WINDOW GLASS REMOVAL

Tip:
  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover)

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 DECK BOARD (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

  4. REMOVE FRONT DECK FLOOR BOX (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

  5. REMOVE LOWER DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

  6. REMOVE LOWER DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

  7. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

  8. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

  9. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat, w/ Spare Tire)

  10. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

  11. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRAY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat, w/ Spare Tire)

  12. REMOVE DECK RAIL COVER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat, w/o Spare Tire)

  13. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

  14. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

  15. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BELT HOLE COVER LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

  16. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BELT HOLE COVER RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

  17. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

  18. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT TRACK COVER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

  19. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

  20. REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER

  21. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

  22. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

  23. REMOVE FRONT DECK SIDE TRIM COVER LH

  24. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE SERVICE HOLE COVER

  25. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY

  26. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH

  27. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH

  28. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY LH

    Tip:

    Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

    Protective Tape

    Note:

    When separating the quarter window from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle paint or interior/exterior ornaments.

    1. Disconnect the connectors.

    2. Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in the illustration.

      Note:

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

      From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and quarter window as shown in the illustration.

    4. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    5. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the quarter window.

      Note:

      Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the quarter window.

    6. Detach the 2 clips and remove the quarter window.

  29. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW MOULDING LH

    1. Using a scraper, remove the moulding.

      Note:
      • Be careful not to damage the quarter window.

      • Be sure to replace the quarter window moulding with a new one.

  30. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW GLASS LH SPACER

    1. Using a scraper, remove the spacer.

      Note:
      • Be careful not to damage the quarter window.

      • Be sure to replace the quarter window spacer with new one.

  31. CLEAN VEHICLE BODY

    1. B106081E44

      Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body.

      1. On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration.

        Note:

        Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

        Tip:

        Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible.

      2. Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner.
