HEATER SWITCH (w/ Hot Gas Heater) INSPECTION

INSPECT HEATER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Hot Gas Heater)

1. 

   Text in Illustration

   *a	Component without harness connected (Heater Switch Assembly)

   Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance
   Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 6 (+S) - 3 (-S) ON Below 1 Ω 6 (+S) - 3 (-S) OFF 10 kΩ or higher

   If the result is not as specified, replace the heater switch assembly.

2. Check the heater indicator operation.

   
   

   1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 (IND) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 7 (E).

   2. Push the heater switch assembly, and check that the indicator light comes on.

      OK
      The indicator light comes on.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the heater switch assembly.

3. Check the illumination operation.

   
   

   1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 (TAIL) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 4 (L1), and check that the illumination light comes on.

      OK
      The illumination light comes on.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the heater switch assembly.

INSPECT IDLE UP SWITCH (w/o Hot Gas Heater)

   *a	Component without harness connected (Idle Up Switch)

   Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance
   Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 6 (T) - 3 (E) ON Below 1 Ω 6 (T) - 3 (E) OFF 10 kΩ or higher

   If the result is not as specified, replace the idle up switch.

2. Check the illumination operation.

   
   

   1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 (TAIL) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 4 (L1), and check that the illumination light comes on.

      OK
      The illumination light comes on.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the idle up switch.
