MASS AIR FLOW METER ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT MASS AIR FLOW METER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the mass air flow meter sub-assembly.

    1. Read the value of Data List item "Mass Air Flow Sensor" using the GTS.

      Note

Perform the inspection of the mass air flow meter sub-assembly while it is installed to the air cleaner assembly (installed to the vehicle).

      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Start the engine.

      3. Turn the GTS on.

      4. Warm up the engine.

      5. Turn the A/C switch off.

      6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / MAF Sensor Bank 1 and MAF Sensor Bank 2.

Powertrain > Engine > Data List
        Tester Display
        MAF Sensor Bank1
        MAF Sensor Bank2
      7. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List when the engine is running.
