RADIATOR REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  2. REMOVE HEADLIGHT

  3. PRECAUTION

    Note:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

  7. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE BATTERY

  9. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  11. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BUMPER ABSORBER

    1. Remove the 4 screws and front lower bumper absorber.

  12. REMOVE RADIATOR LOWER AIR GUIDE PLATE

    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the radiator lower air guide plate.

  13. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  14. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER (w/ Cover)

  15. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

  16. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

      Detach the clamp to disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly.

  17. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER UPPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the horn connector.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and front bumper upper reinforcement sub-assembly.

  18. REMOVE RADIATOR UPPER AIR GUIDE PLATE

      Remove the 7 clips and radiator upper air guide plate.

  19. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  20. DISCONNECT LIQUID PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  21. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

      w/o Hood Courtesy Switch

      Disconnect the 2 cooling fan motor connector.

    2. Detach the 9 wire harness clamps.

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR SUPPORT

    1. A270877

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 No. 1 radiator supports.

  23. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT

      Remove the 4 bolts and upper radiator support.

  24. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. A297228

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Slide the hose clamp and disconnect the radiator hose sub-assembly from the No. 1 radiator hose.

  25. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

    1. A207916

      Slide the hose clamp and disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose from the water inlet housing.

  26. DISCONNECT NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

    1. Slide the hose clamp and disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the water by-pass pipe.

  27. DISCONNECT NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

    1. Slide the hose clamp and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the radiator assembly.

  28. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the radiator assembly together with the fan shroud.

      Tip:

      After removing the radiator assembly, make sure that both lower radiator supports are attached to the fan shroud.

  29. REMOVE RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Slide the 2 hose clamps and remove the radiator hose sub-assembly from the radiator assembly and water by-pass pipe.

  30. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

    1. A270872

      Slide the hose clamp and remove the No. 2 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.

  31. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS PIPE

    1. A270875

      Slide the hose clamp and disconnect the water by-pass hose from the radiator assembly.

    2. Detach the 3 clamps to remove the water by-pass pipe.

  32. REMOVE RADIATOR LOWER SUPPORT

    1. Remove the 2 radiator lower supports from the fan shroud.

  33. REMOVE NO. 2 FAN SHROUD

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 2 fan shroud.

  34. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 2 guides and remove the condenser assembly.

  35. REMOVE FAN SHROUD WITH COOLING FAN

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and fan shroud.
