  3. PRE-CHECK

    1. Measure the battery voltage.

      Standard Voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.

      Tip:
      • Whether the vehicle battery is discharged can be checked simply by operating the horn.

      • After recharging the battery, initialize the integrated current value* and drive the vehicle until stop and start control operation is permitted (approximately 15 to 40 minutes).

        *: Disconnect the cables from the battery, wait for 30 seconds or more and then reconnect the cables.

    2. Check the fuses and relays.

    3. Check the connector connections and terminals to make sure that there are no abnormalities such as loose connections, deformation, etc.

  4. CHECK DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA*

    1. Check for DTCs.

    2. Check for freeze frame data.

      Tip:

      Record or print DTCs and freeze frame data if necessary.

    3. Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.

      Tip:

      If any DTCs for the CAN communication system are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

  8. CONFIRMATION TEST

    1. Warm up the engine.

    2. Turn the air conditioning system off.

    3. Drive the vehicle for 15 to 40 minutes.

    4. Stop the vehicle, move the shift lever to neutral and release the clutch pedal. Check if the engine is stopped by the stop and start control.

      Tip:

      If the engine is not stopped by stop and start control, air fuel ratio learning and idle speed learning are necessary. Allow the engine to idle for 3 minutes and check that the engine speed is within 50 rpm of the target idle speed.

    5. Depress the clutch pedal and that the engine restarts.
