COOLER EXPANSION VALVE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL COOLER EXPANSION VALVE


    1. Apply sufficient compressor oil to 2 new O-rings and the fitting surfaces of the cooler expansion valve.

      Compressor Oil
      for HFC-134a(R134a)
      ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
      for HFO-1234yf(R1234yf)
      ND-OIL 12 or equivalent

    2. Install the 2 O-rings.

      Note

      Keep the O-rings and O-ring fitting surfaces free of foreign matter.

    3. Temporarily install the cooler expansion valve.

    4. Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, install the cooler expansion valve with the 2 hexagon bolts.

      Torque:
      3.5 N*m  { 36 kgf*cm, 31 in.*lbf }

  2. CONNECT AIRCONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY (for Sub-cool Accelerator)


    1. Remove the vinyl tape from the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

    2. Apply sufficient compressor oil to 2 new O-rings and the fitting surfaces of the cooler expansion valve.

      Compressor Oil
      ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

    3. Install the O-ring.

      Note

      Keep the O-rings and O-ring fitting surfaces free of foreign matter.

    4. Connect the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

    5. B008GZB

      Rotate the hook connector in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and install the bolt.

      Torque:
      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL LIQUID PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (except Sub-cool Accelerator)

  4. INSTALL SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (except Sub-cool Accelerator)


    1. Remove the vinyl tape from the suction pipe sub-assembly.

    2. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to new O-rings and fitting surface of the suction pipe sub-assembly.

      Compressor Oil
      for HFC-134a(R134a)
      ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
      for HFO-1234yf(R1234yf)
      ND-OIL 12 or equivalent

    3. Install the O-ring to the suction pipe sub-assembly.

      Note

      Keep the O-rings and O-ring fitting surfaces free of foreign matter.

    4. Connect the suction pipe sub-assembly.

      Rotate the hook connector in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and install the bolt.

      Torque:
      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 8AR-FTS)

  7. CHARGE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WITH REFRIGERANT


    1. for HFC-134a(R134a):

  8. WARM UP ENGINE
