STEERING WHEEL INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:
  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Shift Paddle Switch)

  2. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL BOSS LOWER COVER

    1. w/o Shift Paddle Switch

      1. Attach the 2 guide pins and 4 claws to install the lower cover.

    2. w/ Shift Paddle Switch

      1. Attach the 2 guide pins and 2 claws to install the lower cover.

      2. Install the 2 screws.

  3. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. Attach the 6 claws and 2 pins to install the steering pad switch assembly.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

    3. Connect the connector to the spiral cable.

      Tip:

      If the vehicle is equipped with a shift paddle switch, connect the connector and the connector clamp.

  4. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE (w/ Cruise Control System)

    1. Install the cruise control switch wire to the cruise control main switch.

  5. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System)

  6. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  7. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE

  8. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

    1. Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft.

    2. Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.

      50 N*m

      510 kgf*cm

      37 ft.*lbf

    3. Connect the connectors to the spiral cable sub-assembly.

  9. INSTALL STEERING PAD

  10. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT

  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click hereClick hereClick hereClick here).

  12. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT

    w/ Occupant Classification System:Click here
