SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Move the shift lever to N.

      Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

      Stopper

      Nut

      Pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable assembly.

    4. Rotate the nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

      Note:

      Do not over-rotate the nut as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable.

  3. REMOVE TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors and 4 clamps from the transmission floor shift assembly.

      Remove the 4 bolts and transmission floor shift assembly.
