VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM TC and CG Terminal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Connecting terminals TC and CG of the DLC3 causes the ECU to output the DTCs by blinking the ABS warning light and VSC OFF indicator light.

Tech Tips

When the warning light and indicator light continue to blink, there may be a ground short in the wiring of terminal TC of the DLC3 or an internal ground short in one or more ECUs.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

  • After replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform calibration Click here.

  • Before disconnecting the connector, make sure that there are no problems with the connection.

  • After disconnecting the connector, make sure that the connector case and terminals are not deformed or corroded.

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

  2. INSPECT DLC3

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. CHECK ECM (DLC3 INPUT)

      Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Connect the ECM connector.

    3. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    5. Check that the MIL is blinking.

      Result

      MIL is blinking for LHD B
      for RHD C

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - ECM)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. for 1KD-FTV (for DPF) and 2KD-FTV (for DPF):

      Disconnect the E30 ECM connector.

      for 1KD-FTV (except DPF) and 2KD-FTV (except DPF):

      Disconnect the E5 ECM connector.

      for 1GR-FE:

      Disconnect the E14 ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for 1KD-FTV (for DPF) and 2KD-FTV (for DPF)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D1-13 (TC) - E30-23 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω
      D1-13 (TC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for 1KD-FTV (except DPF) and 2KD-FTV (except DPF)
