FRONT AXLE HUB BOLT REPLACEMENT

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

2. DISCONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE

   1. 

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the flexible hose.

3. DISCONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH

   1. 

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the front disc brake caliper assembly from the steering knuckle.

      Note:

      Use wire or an equivalent tool to keep the brake caliper from hanging down by the flexible hose.

4. REMOVE FRONT DISC

   • for 17 inch Front Disc Brake:

     Click here

   • for 16 inch Front Brake:

     Click here

5. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB BOLT LH

   

   *1	Nut
   *a	Hold
   *b	Turn

   1. Temporarily install 2 nuts and 2 washers to the front axle hub bolt as shown in the illustration.

   2. Using SST and a brass bar or an equivalent tool to hold the front axle, remove the front axle hub bolt.

6. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB BOLT LH

   1. 

      *1	Washer
      *2	Nut
      *a	Hold
      *b	Turn

      Install a washer and nut to a new front axle hub bolt as shown in the illustration.

   2. Using a brass bar or an equivalent tool to hold the front axle, install the hub bolt by tightening the nut.

   3. Remove the nut and plate washer.

7. INSTALL FRONT DISC

   • for 17 inch Front Disc Brake:

8. CONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH

   1. Connect the front disc brake caliper assembly to the steering knuckle with the 2 bolts.

      106.8 N*m

      79 ft.*lbf

9. CONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE

   1. Connect the front flexible hose to the steering knuckle with the bolt.

      29 N*m

      296 kgf*cm

      21 ft.*lbf

10. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

    103 N*m

    1050 kgf*cm

    76 ft.*lbf
