FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL

    1. Apply MP grease to the lip of a new timing chain cover oil seal.

      Note:

      Keep the lip free from foreign matter.

    2. A157500N07

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the timing chain cover oil seal until its surface is flush with the front timing chain cover sub-assembly retainer edge.

      Note:
      • Wipe off excess grease from the crankshaft.

      • Do not tap the timing chain cover oil seal at an angle.

      Tip:

      Timing chain cover oil seal tap in depth: - 1.0 to 1.0 mm (-0.0397 to 0.0397 in.)

  2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

    1. Align the pulley set key with the key groove of the crankshaft pulley.

      Hold

      Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley in place and tighten the pulley bolt.

      for 86 mm (3.39 in.) Bolt Pitch Type:

      for 64 mm (2.52 in.) Bolt Pitch Type:

      Tip:

      For the 64 mm (2.52 in.) bolt pitch type, the part number of the installation bolt for SST (crankshaft pulley holding tool) is 91551-00850 (quantity: 2).

  3. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT

  4. ADJUST V-RIBBED BELT

  5. INSPECT V-RIBBED BELT

  6. INSPECT FOR ENGINE OIL LEAK

  7. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT RH

  8. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

  9. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Full Cover Type)

  10. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Half Cover Type)

  11. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Metal Type)

  12. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH
