ECD SYSTEM(for Swirl Control Valve), Diagnostic DTC:P1072 and P1131

DTC Code DTC Name
P1072 Plausibility Test with Environment Pressure
P1131 Plausibility Test with Intake Air Pressure

DESCRIPTION

DTC No.

DTC Detection Condition

Trouble Area

P1072

The fault is set whenever the absolute difference between the pressure upstream of the turbine and the ambient pressure in after-run mode is greater than 120 hPa (12 kPa).

(3 trip detection logic)

Tip:

After-run mode is the period between IG OFF and shut down of ECM (EFI MAIN relay off), when the ECM saves certain values and performs certain checks.

DTC Detection Condition

Trouble Area

P1131

The fault code is set when the absolute difference between the pressure upstream of the turbine and the charging pressure in after-run mode is greater than 150 mbar (15 kPa).

(3 trip detection logic)

Tip:

After-run mode is the period between IG OFF and shut down of ECM (EFI MAIN relay off), when the ECM saves certain values and performs certain checks.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:
  • When the ECM must be replaced, before replacing the ECM, perform the "Learning Values Save" function using the GTS. Then after installing the new ECM, perform all of the initialization/registrations for the "Learning Values Write" function by following the instructions shown on the GTS display.

  • Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

PROCEDURE

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (ABSOLUTE TURBINE UPSTREAM PRESSURE AND ATMOSPHERE PRESSURE)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Absolute Turbine Upstream Pressure and Atmosphere Pressure.

    4. Read the value immediately after stopping the engine.

      Standard

Difference between the Absolute Turbine Upstream Pressure and Atmosphere Pressure is within 8 kPa or less.

    Tip:

Standard atmospheric pressure is 101 kPa. For every 100 m increase in altitude, pressure drops by 1 kPa. Varies by weather.

  2. CHECK EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR AIR HOSE CONNECTION

    1. Check that the exhaust gas pressure sensor air hose is securely installed.

      OK

      Part is securely installed.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR - ECM)

    1. Disconnect the exhaust gas pressure sensor connector.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
