PROCEDURE
INSPECT TRAP CANISTER WITH CANISTER PUMP MODULE
Check the canister pump module.
Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1.
Check that a clicking sound is heard from the canister pump module.
If the result is not as specified, replace the canister pump module.
Visually check the trap canister with canister pump module for cracks or damage.
If cracks or damage is found, replace the trap canister with canister pump module or canister pump module.

Check the trap canister operation.
With the connector closed, blow air at 5 kPa (0.1 kgf/cm2, 0.7 psi) into the air inlet line port and check that air flows from the fuel vent hose sub-assembly.
If the result is not as specified, replace the trap canister with canister pump module.
Check for air leaks.
Remove the charcoal canister assembly.
Inspect the charcoal canister assembly.

Connect the trap canister with canister pump module to the charcoal canister assembly.

Connect a pressure gauge to the vent port of the canister.
With the purge line port, air inlet line port and connector closed, apply pressurized air at 19.6 kPa (0.2 kgf/cm2, 2.8 psi) into the vent line port, and then confirm that pressure is retained for 1 minute.
If the result is not as specified, replace the trap canister with canister pump module.
Disconnect the trap canister with canister pump module to the charcoal canister assembly.
Install the charcoal canister assembly.
