PARKING BRAKE CABLE INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:

  • Use the same procedure for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly and No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.

  • The following procedure is for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Engage the clip to install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the rear brake backing plate.

    2. Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly with the 3 bolts and nut.

      6.0 N*m

      61 kgf*cm

      53 in.*lbf

    3. Engage the grommet to the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly bracket.

      Note:

      Do not twist the rear speed sensor wire harness when installing it.

  2. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

    Tip:

    Refer to the instructions for connecting the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  3. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Connect the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the parking brake equalizer.

    2. Temporarily tighten the No. 2 wire adjusting nut.

      Note:

      If the No. 2 wire adjusting nut has been removed from the rod, replace the No. 2 wire adjusting nut with a new one.

      Tip:

      After adjusting the parking brake lever travel, tighten the No. 2 wire adjusting nut.

  4. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
