Speed Limiter System does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When the speed limiter main switch is turned on, the ECM illuminates the speed limiter indicator light and activates the speed limiter system. Each control of the speed limiter system can be activated by operating the cruise control switch. When the cruise control system is operating, the speed limiter system will not activate.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM

    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    2. Turn the cruise control switch on.

    3. Check the operation of each function by operating the cruise control switch (Click here).

      OK

      Each function of the cruise control system operates normally.

    GO TO CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (SPEED LIMITER MAIN SWITCH)

    1. Use the Data List to check if the speed limiter main switch is functioning properly.

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly (Click here).

    2. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly (Click here)

  5. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly (Click here).

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly (Click here).

  6. CHECK ENGINE TYPE

    1. Check engine type.

    1. Disconnect the H130 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A76 ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the H130 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A76 ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
