KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY(for Hatchback, Wagon) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Airbag Connector Lock

      Connect the airbag connector to the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

      Note:

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    4. Push in the airbag connector lock to install the airbag connector.

    5. Engage the 6 claws and 2 guides to temporarily install the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

    6. Install the 4 bolts.

      10 N*m

      102 kgf*cm

      7 ft.*lbf

      Note:

      Confirm that the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly is installed securely without any excessive gaps and is not protruding outward.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Under Cover)

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE (for LHD)

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE (for RHD)

  5. INSTALL NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE (for RHD)

  6. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  7. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

  8. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY

  9. INSTALL NO. 1 METER HOOD CLUSTER

  10. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  11. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

  12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  13. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK

  14. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
