CONSTRUCTION
The cylinder block and the areas of the stiffening crankcase assembly which connect to the transaxle have been reinforced to reduce vibration and noise in the cabin.
Weight reduction has been achieved while maintaining the low vibration level by optimizing the shape of the reinforcement ribs.
The stiffening crankcase assembly uses a structure where the oil filter and oil cooler can be directly installed to reduce weight and to enhance reliability.
A dedicated passage is provided to have engine oil supplied to the cylinder head collected in the oil pan sub-assembly. As a result, oil return performance is ensured by preventing oil agitation by the crankshaft.
An engine oil level sensor is installed on the stiffening crankcase assembly.
