    Tech Tips

    When inspecting the following functions, make sure that the map light switch*1, *2 and No. 1 room light switch are in the door position.


    1. The illuminated entry system has the following control functions:

      Control Outline Lighting
      Door Lock/Unlock-linked*2 When all doors are unlocked using the transmitter, the items listed to the right turn on.

      • Map light assembly*1

      • Ignition key cylinder light*5

      • No. 1 room light assembly
      When all doors are locked using the transmitter, the items listed to the right turn off.
      Door Lock/Unlock-linked*3, *4 When all doors are unlocked using the transmitter, the items listed to the right turn on. Ignition key cylinder light*5
      When all doors are locked using the transmitter, the items listed to the right turn off.
      Ignition Switch-linked*2 When the ignition switch is turned from off to ON, the items listed to the right turn off.

      When all doors are closed, the items listed to the right turn off.

      When driver side door is closed, the items listed to the right turn off.
      When any door (except driver side door) is opened, the items listed to the right turn on. No. 1 room light assembly
      When all doors (except driver side door) are closed, the items listed to the right turn off.

  2. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ Automatic Light Control System)

    When the ignition switch is ON and headlight dimmer switch is in the AUTO position, the automatic light control sensor will check the ambient light levels, and automatically brighten or darken the low beam headlights, front clearance lights, taillights and license plate lights.

  3. LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM (w/ Automatic Light Control System)

    When the headlight dimmer switch is in the AUTO position and the ignition switch is turned from ON to off, opening the driver side door will automatically turn off the headlights, front clearance lights, taillights and license plate lights.

  4. MANUAL HEADLIGHT BEAM LEVEL CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ Headlight Leveling)


    1. When the vehicle posture changes in accordance with the number (weight) of passengers and volume of luggage, this system enables the adjustment of the low beam level (11 steps) of the headlights manually to the appropriate level based on the position of the headlight leveling switch.


      • The beam level of the headlight can be adjusted by the headlight leveling motor that is installed in the headlight assembly.

      • The headlight leveling switch allows the driver to control this system.
