OUTLINE
Aim of Interior Design
While separating the driver seat as a cockpit-like area, a sense of connection has been maintained with the passenger seat, which has a sense of openness. Thus, an interior space with a new configuration has been created, realizing a roomy yet snug interior.
Based on the concept of Lexus HMI (Human Machine Interface), which separates the display and operation zones starting with the display device(HUD: Head Up Display), a space that enables the driver to concentrate on driving has been expressed.
By using the texture of the materials as a part of the interior shape, the space configuration has been effectively enhanced.

Achieving a Roomy Yet Snug Interior
The strong horizontal axis of the instrument panel, a fundamental element of the Lexus interior, passes through at a low position, expressing a structure with a wide feel. The stepped cross-section of the instrument panel with its low axis has given the top area of the instrument panel a sense of openness (*1).
The vertical form continuing from the meter hood to the center cluster separates the flow from the display zone to the operation zone as a cockpit-like area (*2).
Combined (*3) with the center console that emphasizes the longitudinal design theme, this realizes a roomy driver space with a snug feel and expresses a distinctive Lexus interior space.
A Space That Enables Driver Concentration Starting With the HUD
The longitudinal design motif focuses on the HUD which connects with the center console from the meter hood. This visually expresses movement from the display zone to the operation zone, realizing a space that enables the driver to concentrate on driving.

Focus on Expression Through Materials
While expressing a large three-dimensional area with a horizontal design, switching between colors and materials enhances the theme which separates the driver and passenger spaces, giving the shape more depth.
At the same time, solid shapes and textures have been used on the functional areas such as the center cluster and air-conditioning registers. In areas which are often touched by the occupants, soft and elegant shapes and materials have been used, which also express the differentiation of the functions.
Expressive Ornamentation Incorporated into the Interior Design
A large ornamentation panel which has been coordinated with the door trim is available for the center console, significantly transforming the overall impression of the cabin by only changing the wood-grain panels, effectively expressing differentiation.
Door Trims
For the door trim shoulder areas, a solid surface passes through from the front to the rear, expressing a sense of protection as an SUV (*1).
The arm rest areas that occupants come into contact with have encompassing rounded surfaces that are finished with soft feel materials and quilting to enhance the material and tactile feel (*2).
For the inside door handle, a Lexus-first knobless lock has been adopted, enhancing refinement and harmony with the design of surrounding areas.

Seats
Based on an ergonomic design, the cut-in seat side shaping (*1) which enables easy operation of the Remote Touch device, and the rounded seat cushions (*2),designed in consideration of accessibility, are coordinated with a vertical stitch pattern, achieving both an elegant design and usability.
The quilting on the seat backs matches the door trim, achieving overall interior unity.
