FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL

    1. A157500E01

      Apply MP grease to the lip of a new timing chain cover oil seal.

      Note:
      • Do not allow foreign matter to contact the lip of the timing chain cover oil seal.

      • Do not allow MP grease to contact the timing chain cover oil seal.

    2. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the timing chain cover oil seal until its surface is flush with the timing chain cover sub-assembly edge.

      Note:
      • Wipe off any extra grease from the crankshaft.

      • Do not tap in the timing chain cover oil seal at an angle.

  2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

    1. A236399C03

      Hold

      V100135

      Turn

      Align the key groove of the crankshaft pulley with the pulley set key.

    2. Temporarily install the crankshaft pulley with the pulley bolt.

    3. Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley in place and tighten the pulley bolt.

      for 86 mm (3.39 in.) Bolt Pitch Type:

      for 64 mm (2.52 in.) Bolt Pitch Type:

      140 ft.*lbf

      Tip:

      For the 64 mm (2.52 in.) bolt pitch type, the part number of the installation bolt for SST (crankshaft pulley holding tool) is 91551-00850 (quantity: 2).

  3. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT

  4. ADJUST V-RIBBED BELT

  5. INSPECT V-RIBBED BELT

  6. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT RH

  7. ADD ENGINE OIL

  8. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK

  9. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

  10. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  11. INSTALL NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER
