PARKING BRAKE CABLE REMOVAL

Tip:

  • Use the same procedure for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly and No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.

  • The following procedure is for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. SEPARATE PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

      No. 2 Wire Adjusting Nut

      *2

      No. 2 Parking Brake Cable Assembly

      *3

      No. 3 Parking Brake Cable Assembly

      Loosen the No. 2 wire adjusting nut.

      Note:

      If the No. 2 wire adjusting nut has been removed from the rod, replace the No. 2 wire adjusting nut with a new one.

    2. Separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer.

  3. SEPARATE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

    Refer to the instructions for separating the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  4. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Disengage the grommet from the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly bracket.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts, nut and separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

      Disengage the clip and remove the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.
