WINDOW DEFOGGER SYSTEM SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. GENERAL

    1. The rear window defogger wire is attached to the inside of the rear window and defogs the window surface quickly when the rear window defogger switch is pressed. The indicator light on the switch illuminates while the system is operating. This system automatically turns off after approximately 15 minutes.*1

    2. The rear window defogger wire is attached to the inside of the rear window and defogs the window surface quickly when the rear window defogger switch is pressed. The indicator light on the switch illuminates while the system is operating. This system the rear window defogger switch is pressed turns off.*2

      Tip:
      • If both of the following conditions are met after approximately 15 minutes from when the window defogger system was activated, the window defogger system continues to operate up to approximately 45 minutes. If the following conditions are not met, the window defogger system stops operating immediately.*1

        1. The outside temperature is -3°C (27°F) or lower.

        2. Power generated by the generator assembly installed on the vehicle is stable.

      • The window defogger system is linked with the mirror defogger.*2

      Note:

      If the battery voltage becomes low, window defogger system operation is canceled to prioritize supplying power to the power steering system.*

    Receives a window defogger system activation request signal from the No. 2 heater control sub-assembly and supplies power to the back window glass (rear window defogger wire).

    Receives power from the defogger relay and heats the rear window using the back door glass (rear window defogger wire)*3 or back window glass (rear window defogger wire)*4.
