PARKING BRAKE PEDAL(for RHD) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

3. REMOVE YAW RATE SENSOR BRACKET

4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

5. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY

   Use the same procedure as for LHD.

6. REMOVE ACCELERATOR PEDAL PAD

7. REMOVE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY

8. REMOVE REAR NO. 4 AIR DUCT

   Tech Tips

9. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR SILENCER PAD RH

10. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 AIR DUCT

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for LHD.

11. REMOVE NO. 2 DASH PANEL INSULATOR PAD

    
    

    1. 

       Disengage the 2 clips to remove the No. 2 dash panel insulator pad.

12. REMOVE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY

    Use the same procedure as for LHD.

13. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR REAR UPPER SUB PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    
    

    1. 

       Disengage the 6 clamps from the front floor rear upper sub panel sub-assembly.

    2. 

       Disengage the 2 guides to separate the front floor carpet assembly.

    3. Remove the 4 bolts.

    4. 

       Disengage the clamp and remove the front floor rear upper sub panel sub-assembly.

14. LOOSEN NO. 1 WIRE ADJUSTING NUT

    
    

    1. Completely release the parking brake pedal.

    2. 

       *1	No. 1 Wire Adjusting Nut
       *2	Lock Nut

       Loosen the lock nut and No. 1 wire adjusting nut to completely release the parking brake cable.

15. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE RETURN WITH DAMPER SPRING

    
    

    1. 

       Using needle-nose pliers, remove the parking brake return with damper spring.

16. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER

    
    

    1. 

       *1	No. 2 Parking Brake Cable Assembly
       *2	No. 3 Parking Brake Cable Assembly

       Remove the 2 nuts and separate the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer.

    2. 

       Slide the rubber boot as shown in the illustration.

    3. 

       Remove the parking brake equalizer as shown in the illustration.

17. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY

    
    

    1. 

       Remove the 2 nuts and separate the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the body.

    2. 

       Remove the 2 bolts and separate the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the body.

    3. 

       Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

    4. 

       Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and parking brake control pedal assembly from the body.
