PRE-HEATING SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
Turn the ignition switch off for 60 seconds before performing the following inspections.
PROCEDURE
INSPECT ILLUMINATION DURATION OF GLOW INDICATOR LIGHT
Turn the ignition switch to ON and measure the duration of time that the light remains illuminated.

If the result is not as specified, check the ECM, engine coolant temperature sensor, glow plugs and glow plug relay.
INSPECT PRE-HEATING
Turn the ignition switch to ON and measure the length of time that battery voltage is applied to the glow plugs.

After the engine starts, measure the length of time that battery voltage remains present.
