RADIATOR REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  2. REMOVE HEADLIGHT

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

    Click here

  4. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BUMPER ABSORBER

    1. Remove the 4 screws and front lower bumper absorber.

  5. REMOVE RADIATOR LOWER AIR GUIDE PLATE

    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the radiator lower air guide plate.

  6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  7. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  8. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER (w/ Cover)

    Click here

  9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

  10. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

      Detach the clamp to disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly from the upper radiator support.

  11. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER UPPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. A270869

      Disconnect the horn connector.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and front bumper upper reinforcement sub-assembly.

  12. REMOVE RADIATOR UPPER AIR GUIDE PLATE

    1. A366773

      Remove the 6 clips and radiator upper air guide plate.

  13. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  14. DISCONNECT LIQUID PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  15. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

      w/o Hood Courtesy Switch

      Disconnect the 2 cooling fan motor connectors.

    2. Detach the 9 wire harness clamps to disconnect the wire harness.

  16. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR SUPPORT

    1. A297220

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 No. 1 radiator supports.

  17. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT

    1. A270878

      Remove the 4 bolts and upper radiator support.

  18. REMOVE RADIATOR HOSE HOSE CLAMP

      Push

      for Manual Transaxle:

      1. Remove the radiator hose hose clamp.

    2. A297218C01

      Push

      for Automatic Transaxle:

      1. Disconnect the No. 8 and No. 9 water by-pass hose from each radiator hose hose clamp.

      2. Remove the 2 radiator hose hose clamps.

  19. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. A196990

      Slide the hose clamp and disconnect the radiator hose sub-assembly from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  20. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

  21. DISCONNECT NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

    1. Slide the hose clamp and disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the water by-pass pipe.

  22. DISCONNECT NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

    1. Slide the hose clamp and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the radiator assembly.

  23. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the radiator assembly together with the fan shroud.

      Tip:

      After removing the radiator assembly, make sure that both lower radiator supports are attached to the fan shroud.

  24. REMOVE RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. A270895

      Slide the 2 hose clamps and remove the radiator hose sub-assembly from the radiator assembly and water by-pass pipe.

  25. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

    1. A270896

      Slide the hose clamp and remove the No. 2 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.

  26. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS PIPE

    1. A270899

      Detach the 3 clamps, slide the hose clamp and remove the water by-pass pipe from the radiator assembly.

  27. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR SUPPORT

    1. Remove the 2 lower radiator supports from the fan shroud.

  28. REMOVE NO. 2 FAN SHROUD

    1. A270919

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 2 fan shroud.

  29. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 2 guides and remove the condenser assembly.

  30. REMOVE FAN SHROUD

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and fan shroud.
