EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (Sensor 1)

    Click here

  3. DISCONNECT FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs and disconnect the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    2. A322683

      Disconnect the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the exhaust pipe support.

    3. Remove the gasket from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst).

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR

      Remove the 2 bolts, nut and No. 1 manifold converter insulator from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst).

  5. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

      Nut

      Remove the bolt, nut and manifold stay from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst) and cylinder block sub-assembly.

  6. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD (TWC: Front Catalyst)

      Remove the 6 nuts and exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst) from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the exhaust manifold to head gasket and inlet EGR gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR

    1. A426685

      Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 manifold converter insulator from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst).
