POWER BACK DOOR SYSTEM

  1. CONSTRUCTION

    1. The rear emblem sensor assembly consists of a capacitive type sensor and an electrode.

    2. The rear emblem sensor assembly has an upper detection area (operation area) and a lower detection area (operation prohibited area). When a hand is held between 20 and 30 mm from the rear emblem sensor assembly without entering the lower detection area, the rear emblem sensor assembly sends an on signal.

      Tech Tips

      • The rear emblem sensor assembly will successfully detect an elbow or gloved hand.

      • The rear emblem sensor assembly will also successfully detect a hand that is holding a cellular phone.

    3. Anytime a part of a human body enters the lower detection area of the rear emblem sensor assembly before entering the upper detection area, such as when a hand is held parallel to the rear emblem sensor assembly or someone leans on the back door assembly, the rear emblem sensor prohibits sending an on signal.
