AIRBAG SYSTEM

  1. OUTLINE

    1. The dual-stage*1 Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) driver airbag (horn button assembly) and the dual-stage*1 SRS front passenger airbag (instrument panel passenger airbag without door assembly) are used as supplements to the seat belts to help to reduce the shocks to the head and chest of the driver or front passenger in the event of a front impact collision.

    2. The SRS driver knee airbag (lower No.1 instrument panel airbag assembly) is used as a supplement to the seat belt to restrain the lower body of the driver in the event of a front impact collision.*2

    3. The SRS side airbags (front seat airbag assemblies) are used in the event of a side impact collision to help to reduce the shock to the chest of the driver or front passenger.

    4. The SRS curtain shield airbags (curtain shield airbag assemblies) are used in the event of a side or side rear impact collision to help to reduce the shock to the head of the driver, front passenger and rear passengers.

    5. The airbag ECU assembly uses a fuel cut control that stops the fuel pump if any airbag is deployed.
