LIGHTING SYSTEM Indicator Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The headlight beam level control system indicator light in the combination meter sub-assembly comes on for approximately 3 seconds when the power switch is turned on (IG). The indicator light also comes on when the headlight leveling ECU assembly detects a malfunction.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AUXILIARY BATTERY - COMBINATION METER SUB-ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the L27 combination meter sub-assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L27-2 (IG+) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Power switch off Below 1 V

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER SUB-ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A48 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A48-6 (WNG) - L27-27 (LVWG) Always Below 1 Ω
      A48-6 (WNG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. INSPECT COMBINATION METER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Reconnect the L27 combination meter sub-assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
