PCV VALVE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT PCV VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:


    • When inspecting the PCV valve sub-assembly, do not suck air through the valve.

    • There are blow-by gas substances remaining inside the PCV valve sub-assembly that are harmful to inhale.

    1. Install a clean hose to the PCV valve sub-assembly.

    2. Check the PCV valve sub-assembly operation.

        *b Cylinder Head Cover Sub-assembly LH Side

        Blow air into the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH side and check that air passes through easily. If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve sub-assembly.

        CAUTION:

        Do not suck air through the valve. Petroleum substances inside the valve are hazardous to your health.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve sub-assembly.

        *b Intake Air Surge Tank Assembly Side
        B006EC9 Air

        Blow air into the intake air surge tank assembly side and check that air passes through with difficulty.

        CAUTION:

        Do not suck air through the valve. Petroleum substances inside the valve are hazardous to your health.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve sub-assembly.

    3. Remove the clean hose from the PCV valve sub-assembly.
