  1. CONSTRUCTION


    1. An aluminum die-cast timing chain cover is used.

    2. The timing chain cover sub-assembly has an integrated construction consisting of the oil pump and a timing chain oil jet. Thus, the number of parts has been reduced, resulting in a weight reduction.

    3. The timing chain cover sub-assembly has a structure which allows the installation of a cam timing oil control solenoid assembly for VVT-iW control.

    4. To achieve excellent serviceability, service holes for the No. 1 chain tensioner assembly and camshaft timing gear assembly are provided on the timing chain cover sub-assembly.

    5. Stiffening ribs are optimally arranged on the rear side of the timing chain cover sub-assembly, making it easy for the engine oil to return to the sub-assembly. Engine vibration and noise reduction have also been balanced.
