AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM (for Radio Receiver Type) Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Power is supplied to the radio receiver assembly and steering pad switch assembly*1 or steering pad switch LH*2 illumination when the headlight dimmer switch assembly is in the tail or head position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK ILLUMINATION


    1. Check if the illumination for the radio receiver assembly, steering pad switch assembly*1 or steering pad switch LH*2, glove box or other parts (hazard switch, transmission control switch, etc.) comes on when the head light dimmer switch assembly is turned to the head or tail position.


      • *1: w/ Accessory Meter

      • *2: w/o Accessory Meter

      Illumination comes on for all components except steering pad switch assembly. A
      Illumination comes on for all components except radio receiver assembly. B
      No illumination comes on (radio receiver assembly, hazard switch, glove box, etc.). C

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BATTERY)

      Disconnect the spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

  3. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH


    • *1: w/ Accessory Meter

    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly*1 or steering pad switch LH*2 Click here.

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly*1 or steering pad switch LH*2 Click here.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the R17 radio receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the S42 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R17-23 (SWG) - S42-4 (EAU) Always Below 1 Ω
      R17-23 (SWG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
