Intelligent tester:

Inspect the vehicle's ECM using check mode. Intermittent problems are easier to detect when the ECM is in check mode with the intelligent tester. In check mode, the ECM uses 1 trip detection logic, which has a higher sensitivity to malfunctions than normal mode (default), which uses 2 trip detection logic.


  1. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Switch the ECM from normal mode to check mode using an intelligent tester Click here.

    3. Perform a simulation test Click here.

    4. Check the connector and terminal Click here.

    5. Check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s) and terminal(s) Click here.
