WIPER SWITCH ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Auto Wiper System)
Check the front washer operation.

Component with harness connected
(Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly)
Connect a voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal E10-3 (+1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal E9-4 (EW).
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the washer switch on and off, and check the voltage between terminals E10-3 (+1) and E9-4 (EW).
OK
Voltage changes as shown in the illustration.
If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch assembly.

INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Auto Wiper System)
Check the front wiper intermittent operation.

(Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly)
Connect a voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal E10-3 (+1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal E9-4 (EW).
Turn the wiper switch to the INT position.
Operate the intermittent wiper and check the voltage between terminals E10-3 (+1) and E9-4 (EW).
OK
Voltage changes as shown in the illustration.
If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch assembly.
