ROOF HEADLINING (for Single Cab) REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


  1. PRECAUTION (w/ Airbag System)

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Airbag System)

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate LH.

    2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 4 clips and 8 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM LH

    1. Remove the front door opening trim LH.

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM RH

  9. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP PLUG LH (w/ Assist Grip)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for both assist grip plugs LH.


    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the assist grip plug LH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  10. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP PLUG RH (w/ Assist Grip)

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  11. REMOVE FRONT ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Assist Grip)

    Use the same procedure for both front assist grip sub-assemblies.


    1. Remove the 2 screws and front assist grip sub-assembly.

  12. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

    1. Detach the 2 clips and 2 guides and remove the front pillar garnish LH.

    2. w/ Curtain Shield Airbag:

      Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

        *2 Adhesive Tape

        Thoroughly cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and fix the ends of the cover with adhesive tape, as shown in the illustration.

        Note

        Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish LH is removed.

  13. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  14. REMOVE UPPER BACK PANEL GARNISH

    1. Detach the 4 claws, 4 guides and 5 clips and remove the upper back panel garnish.

  15. REMOVE LOWER QUARTER TRIM PANEL LH

    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the front seat outer belt floor anchor.

      Detach the claw, 3 clips and 2 guides and remove the lower quarter trim panel LH.

  16. REMOVE LOWER QUARTER TRIM PANEL RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  17. REMOVE QUARTER INSIDE TRIM BOARD LH

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the front seat belt shoulder anchor cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the front seat belt shoulder anchor.

      Detach the 3 clips and remove the quarter inside trim board LH.

  18. REMOVE QUARTER INSIDE TRIM BOARD RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  19. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the lens.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Remove the 2 screws and room light.

    3. Disconnect the lamp connector.

  20. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Detach the guide.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and visor assembly LH.

  21. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH

  22. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER LH

    1. Remove the screw.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the visor holder LH.

  23. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER RH

  24. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP (w/ Assist Grip)

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and open the 2 covers.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  25. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 2 claws, 3 clips and 3 guides and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel.

  27. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

      Remove the 3 clips and No. 2 heater to register duct.

  28. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Detach the 3 claws and remove the No. 1 heater to register duct.

  29. REMOVE NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Detach the 4 claws and remove the No. 3 heater to register duct.

  30. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY (w/ Defroster)

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips and remove the defroster nozzle assembly.

  31. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 4 clamps from the front pillar.

    2. for LHD:


      1. A01DXXF

        Disconnect the connectors and detach the 4 clamps.

      2. A01DZMR

        Using a clip remover, remove the 5 clips.

      3. A01DZ4M

        Remove the roof headlining assembly as shown in the illustration.

        Note

        Be careful not to damage the roof headlining assembly when removing it.

    3. for RHD:


      1. Disconnect the connectors and detach the 5 clamps.

        Using a clip remover, remove the clips.

        Remove the roof headlining assembly as shown in the illustration.

        Note

        Be careful not to damage the roof headlining assembly when removing it.

  32. REMOVE FRONT SIDE RAIL SPACER LH

    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the front side rail spacer LH.

  34. REMOVE SIDE RAIL SPACER (for LHD)

    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the side rail spacer.

  36. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SIDE RAIL SPACER LH

    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear No. 2 side rail spacer LH.
