  1. CONSTRUCTION


    1. A crankshaft made of forged steel, which excels in rigidity and wear resistance, is used.

    2. The crankshaft has 5 main bearing journals and 8 balance weights.

    3. A balance shaft drive gear is provided on the crankshaft.

    4. The oil groove on the crankshaft bearing is made eccentric to reduce the amount of oil leakage from the bearing. This enables the capacity of the oil pump to be reduced in order to reduce parasitic losses.

    5. Resin coated aluminum crankshaft bearings are used for the crankshaft bearings. The crankshaft bearings are reduced in width to reduce friction.

    6. Lead-free materials have been used for the crankshaft and crankshaft bearing in consideration of environmental issues.
