POWER BACK DOOR SYSTEM PRECAUTION

  1. PRECAUTIONS FOR TOUCHLESS POWER BACK DOOR (w/ Touchless Power Back Door)

    1. In the following situations, the touchless power back door may operate unintentionally if the electrical transmitter key sub-assembly is near or within the back door exterior detection area:

      Tip:

Refer to Entry and Start System (for Entry Function)

      • When a large amount of water is applied to the kick door control sensor, such as when in heavy rain.

      • When water is applied to the kick door control sensor, such as when washing the vehicle.

      • When dirt, etc. is wiped off the rear bumper.

      • When a small animal suddenly enters the area below the rear bumper.

      • When trying to remove an object from below the rear bumper.

      • When removing snow, etc. from below the rear bumper (such as when using a snow shovel).

      • When the kick operation is performed using a metallic object.

    2. In the following situations, the touchless power back door may not operate normally:

      • When the rear bumper is strongly kicked.

      • When there are electrical waves present that interfere with communication between the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly and vehicle.

      • When a device which emits radio waves which are near the same frequency as the kick door control sensor is near the vehicle.

      • When a large amount of water is applied to the kick door control sensor, such as when in heavy rain.

      • When water is applied to the kick door control sensor, such as when washing the vehicle.

      • When mud, snow, ice, etc. is attached to the rear bumper.

      • When the vehicle has been parked for a while near objects that move and contact the rear bumper, such as tall grass or trees.

      • When parking in an area with an electric field, such as road heating.

    3. In the following situations, the touchless power back door will not operate:

      • When an electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is not detected within the back door exterior detection area.

      • When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is outside of the back door detection area.

      • When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly cannot be verified because of wave interference.
