REAR DOOR DISASSEMBLY
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.
Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
PROCEDURE
REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY
REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE COVER
PRECAUTION
Note:After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
Note:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL

Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 clips, 5 claws and 2 guides and remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly with rear door armrest base panel.
Disconnect the connector.
w/ Seat Heater System:
Disconnect the connector.

REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY
REMOVE REAR SEAT HEATER SWITCH (w/ Seat Heater System)
REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER LH
-
Using a moulding remover, detach the 5 claws, 2 clips and guide and remove the door assist grip cover LH.

REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG LH
-
Detach the 3 claws and remove the rear door inside bezel plug LH.
-
REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
-
Remove the 3 screws.
Detach the 8 clips and remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.
-
Disengage the rear door lock remote control cable assembly LH and rear door inside locking cable assembly LH from the 2 clamps.
Disconnect the rear door lock remote control cable and rear door inside locking cable LH.

REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
-
Detach the 2 claws and guide and remove the rear door inside handle sub-assembly LH.

REMOVE REAR DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH
-
Raise the 6 claws of the rear door inner glass weatherstrip LH as shown in the illustration, and then remove the rear door inner glass weatherstrip LH from the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

REMOVE REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Speaker)
REMOVE REAR DOOR SPEAKER COVER (w/o Speaker)

Disconnect the connector.
Put a 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.
Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip of the drill as shown in the illustration.
Note:Tape the 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.
Lightly press the drill against the 3 rivets, drill off the flanges of the 3 rivets and remove the rear door speaker cover.

CAUTION:Be careful of the drilled rivet as it may become hot.
Note:Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.
Do not pry the rivet with the drill because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivet or the drill bit.
Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled area.

REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

Disconnect the connector of the rear door lock assembly LH.
Pull out the rear door lock remote control cable LH, rear door inside locking cable LH and wire harness from the rear door service hole cover LH, and then remove the rear door service hole cover LH.
Tip:Remove any remaining butyl tape from the rear door panel.

REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
Temporarily install the rear power window regulator switch assembly with rear door armrest base panel.
Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
Move the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH so that the rear door glass channel can be seen.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
Note:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
Remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly with rear door armrest base panel.

Remove the screw and 2 bolts.
-
Remove the rear door window division bar sub-assembly LH together with the rear door glass run as shown in the illustration.
Remove the rear door window division bar sub-assembly LH from the rear door glass run LH.
REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW GLASS LH

Remove the rear door quarter window glass LH.
-
REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW WEATHERSTRIP LH
-
Remove the rear door quarter window weatherstrip LH from the rear door quarter window glass LH.
-
REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
-
Remove the rear door glass sub-assembly LH from the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.
Note:Do not damage the door glass.

REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS CHANNEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

Protective Tape
Using a screwdriver, remove the rear door glass channel sub-assembly LH.
Tip:Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS CHANNEL FILLER
-
Remove the rear door glass channel filler.
-
REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN LH
-
Remove the front side of the rear door glass run LH.
-
REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

Temporary Bolt
Disconnect the connector.
Loosen the temporary bolt.
Note:Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH may fall and become damaged.
Remove the 3 bolts and rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH.
Remove the temporary bolt from the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

REMOVE REAR DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY LH
REMOVE REAR DOOR WITH MOTOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH
REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY LH

Detach the claw and open the cover.

Remove the rear door lock remote control cable LH.

Detach the 3 claws and open the cover.

Remove the rear door inside locking cable assembly LH.

REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK CHILD PROTECTION COVER LH

Remove the rear door lock child protection cover LH.

REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH
-
Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw and remove the rear door outside handle cover LH.
-
REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH
-
Pull and hold the release plate of the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.
Tip:The release plate may interfere with the rear door outside handle assembly and may be damaged when removing the rear door outside handle assembly, unless the release plate of the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly is pulled and held.

Remove the rear door outside handle assembly LH by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD

Detach the 3 claws and remove the rear door front outside handle pad.

REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD

Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear door rear outside handle pad.

REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.
Slide the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH to detach the claw of the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH, and then remove it.

REMOVE REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH

Remove the 3 bolts and rear door check assembly LH.
-
REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH
-
Detach the 19 clips and remove the rear door weatherstrip LH.
-
REMOVE REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH
-
Detach the claw and remove the rear door frame garnish LH.
-
REMOVE DOOR WINDOW FRAME MOULDING CLIP
REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE STRIPE LH
REMOVE REAR DOOR LOWER OUTSIDE STRIPE LH
REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING LH
REMOVE REAR DOOR PANEL CUSHION

Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear door panel cushion.
