THERMOSTAT(for Cylinder Block) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL THERMOSTAT (for Cylinder Block)


    1. Install a new gasket to the thermostat (for Cylinder Block).

      Install the thermostat (for Cylinder Block) to the cylinder block assembly as shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL WATER INLET HOUSING


    1. Install the water inlet housing and 3 new gaskets with the 4 bolts and nut.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL NO. 4 WATER BY-PASS PIPE


    1. Install a new gasket and the No. 4 water by-pass pipe with the bolt and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      Nut
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }
      Bolt
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

    2. Connect the No. 4 water by-pass hose to the No. 4 water by-pass pipe and slide the clip to secure it.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE


    1. Install a new gasket and the No. 1 water by-pass pipe with the 3 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    2. Connect the oil pressure switching valve assembly connector.

    3. Connect the No. 5 water by-pass hose to the No. 1 water by-pass pipe and slide the clip to secure it.

    4. Connect the No. 7 water by-pass hose to the No. 1 water by-pass pipe and slide the clip to secure it.

    5. Connect the No. 2 water by-pass hose to the No. 1 water by-pass pipe and slide the clip to secure it.

    6. Connect the water hose sub-assembly to the No. 1 water by-pass pipe and slide the clip to secure it.

  5. INSTALL NO. 4 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR


    1. Install the No. 4 exhaust manifold heat insulator with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

  6. INSTALL NO. 3 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR


    1. B007XOTC01
      *a Protrusion

      Install the No. 3 exhaust manifold heat insulator with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Install the No. 3 exhaust manifold heat insulator with the protrusion facing upward.

  7. INSTALL ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE


    1. Install a new O-ring to the engine oil level dipstick guide.

    2. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring.

    3. Install the engine oil level dipstick guide with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

    4. Install the engine oil level dipstick.

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 COMPRESSOR MOUNTING BRACKET


    1. Install the No. 1 compressor mounting bracket with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

  9. INSTALL COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY

  10. CONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

    Click here

  11. INSTALL TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  12. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

  13. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK
