CLUTCH PEDAL(for LHD) ADJUSTMENT
PROCEDURE
INSPECT AND ADJUST CLUTCH PEDAL HEIGHT
Turn back the floor carpet.

Check that the clutch pedal height is correct.

Loosen the lock nut and turn the clutch pedal stopper bolt until the correct height is obtained.
Tighten the lock nut.

Return the floor carpet to its original position.
INSPECT CLUTCH PEDAL FREE PLAY AND PUSH ROD PLAY

Check that clutch pedal free play and push rod play are correct.
Tip:Pay close attention to the change in resistance to distinguish between clutch pedal free play and push rod play while performing the inspection.
Depress the clutch pedal sub-assembly until clutch resistance begins to be felt.
Clutch Pedal Free Play
5.0 to 15.0 mm (0.197 to 0.591 in.)
Gently depress the clutch pedal sub-assembly until the resistance begins to increase a little.
Push Rod Play at Clutch Pedal Top
1.0 to 5.0 mm (0.0394 to 0.197 in.)
If necessary, adjust the clutch pedal free play and push rod play.
Tip:The push rod play can be adjusted by changing the length of the push rod. The clutch pedal free play changes together with the push rod play.

Clutch Master Cylinder Push Rod Clevis Lock Nut
(Clutch Pedal Free Play and Push Rod Play Adjust Point)
Loosen the clutch master cylinder push rod clevis lock nut and turn the push rod until correct clutch pedal free play and push rod play are obtained.
Note:If the clutch pedal free play and push rod play are not within the standard range even after adjustment, inspect the related parts.
Tighten the clutch master cylinder push rod clevis lock nut.

After adjusting the clutch pedal free play and push rod play, check the pedal height.
Note:When loosening the clutch master cylinder push rod clevis lock nut, be sure to hold the clevis in place by its octagonal portion.

INSPECT CLUTCH RELEASE POINT
CAUTION:When checking the clutch release point, ensure that the vehicle is secure.
Check the clutch release point.

Be sure to apply the parking brake and secure the wheels using wheel chocks.
Start the engine and run it at idle.
Without depressing the clutch pedal, slowly move the shift lever to R until the gears contact.
Gradually depress the clutch pedal and measure the stroke distance from the point that the gear noise stops (release point) up to the full stroke end position.

25 mm (0.984 in.) or more (from pedal stroke end position to release point)
If the distance is not as specified, perform the following procedures:
Check the pedal height.
Check the push rod play and clutch pedal free play.
Bleed the clutch line.
Check the clutch cover assembly and clutch disc assembly.
