CAMSHAFT OIL CONTROL VALVE(for Exhaust Side) ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

   3. Turn the GTS on.

   4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the Exhaust VVT OCV Duty Ratio Bank 1.

      
      Powertrain > Engine > Active Test

      Tester Display
      Control the Exhaust VVT OCV Duty Ratio Bank 1

   5. Perform the Active Test while idling the engine and check the engine condition.

      Standard Condition
      Control Range Specified Condition 0% Normal engine speed 0% → 100% Engine stall or rough idle

      Tech Tips

      
      

      • When performing the Active Test, make sure the A/C is on.

      • Make sure the engine coolant temperature is 30°C or less when the engine is started.

      If the operation is not as specified, check the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly, wire harness and ECM.
