CLUTCH PEDAL(for RHD) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL NO. 1 CLUTCH PEDAL CUSHION

    1. Using needle-nose pliers, install the 2 No. 1 clutch pedal cushions to the clutch pedal sub-assembly.

  2. INSTALL CLUTCH PEDAL BUSHING

    1. Mount the clutch pedal sub-assembly in a soft jaw vise.

      Note:

      Be careful not to damage the clutch pedal sub-assembly in the vise.

      MP grease

      Apply MP grease to the inner, outer and end surfaces of 2 new clutch pedal bushings.

    3. Install the clutch pedal shaft collar and 2 clutch pedal bushings to the clutch pedal sub-assembly.

  3. INSTALL CLUTCH PEDAL PAD

    1. Install the clutch pedal pad to the clutch pedal sub-assembly.

  4. INSTALL CLUTCH PEDAL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the clutch pedal sub-assembly to the clutch pedal support sub-assembly with the bolt and nut.

      36.8 N*m

      375 kgf*cm

      27 ft.*lbf

      Tip:

      • Install the bolt from the right side of the vehicle.

      • When tightening the nut, keep the bolt from rotating.

  5. INSTALL CLUTCH PEDAL SPRING (for 1NR-FE)

      MP grease

      Apply MP grease to the sliding portion of the clutch pedal spring.

    2. Install the clutch pedal spring to the clutch pedal sub-assembly and clutch pedal support sub-assembly.

  6. INSTALL PEDAL WITH HOOK SPRING (except 1NR-FE)

      MP grease

      Apply MP grease to the sliding portion of the pedal with hook spring.

    2. Install the clutch pedal spring holder to the clutch pedal support sub-assembly.

    3. Install the pedal with hook spring to the clutch pedal sub-assembly and clutch pedal support sub-assembly.

    4. Install the over center spring cap to the clutch pedal sub-assembly.

  7. INSTALL CLUTCH PEDAL STOPPER BOLT

    1. Install the clutch pedal stopper bolt so that its end touches the No. 1 clutch pedal cushion.

      Tip:

      Tighten the lock nut to the specified torque when adjusting the clutch pedal.

  8. INSTALL CLUTCH PEDAL SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      MP grease

      Apply MP grease to the sliding portions of the clutch master cylinder push rod clevis and clutch pedal sub-assembly.

    2. Install the clutch master cylinder push rod clevis to the cutout of the clutch pedal sub-assembly from the left side of the vehicle and push it downward.

    3. Install the clutch pedal support sub-assembly to the body with the 2 nuts and 2 bolts.

      17.5 N*m

      178 kgf*cm

      13 ft.*lbf

      Note:

      Check that the push rod cannot be turned 30° or more in order to confirm that the clevis is securely engaged in the pedal.

  9. INSTALL CLUTCH PEDAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  10. INSTALL NO. 2 CLUTCH PEDAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  11. CONNECT CONNECTORS

  12. INSPECT AND ADJUST CLUTCH PEDAL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  13. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Under Cover)

  14. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback, Wagon)
