SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

Do not rotate the spiral cable without the steering wheel assembly with the battery connected and the engine switch on (IG).

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (w/ Lane Departure Alert System)

  2. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (w/o Lane Departure Alert System)

  3. REMOVE SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH (TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

      Remove the 4 screws.

    2. B004F0T

      Disengage the 4 claws and 2 guides to disconnect the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assemblies) from the steering wheel assembly.

    3. B004FC4

      Disconnect the 2 shift paddle switch (transmission shift switch assembly) connectors to remove the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assemblies) from the No. 1 switch wire.

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH WIRE (w/o Lane Departure Alert System)

    Tech Tips

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 1 switch wire is necessary.

      Disengage the No. 2 switch wire connector clamp from the steering wheel assembly.

    2. B004FPA

      Disconnect the No. 1 switch wire connector.

    3. B004EFD

      Disengage the 5 guides to remove the No. 1 switch wire from the steering wheel assembly.

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 SWITCH WIRE (w/o Lane Departure Alert System)

    Tech Tips

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 2 switch wire is necessary.

      Disengage the 2 guides to remove the No. 2 switch wire from the steering wheel assembly.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH WIRE (w/ Lane Departure Alert System)

    Tech Tips

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 1 switch wire is necessary.


    1. Remove cruise control main switch.

      Click here

    2. Remove steering pad switch assembly.

      Click here

    3. Remove steering vibration and heater ECU.

      Click here

      Disengage the 4 guides to remove the No. 1 switch wire from the lower steering wheel boss cover.

      Note

      If the heater thermistor comes off the lower steering wheel cover, replace the steering wheel assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Do not remove the lower steering wheel boss cover from the steering wheel sub-assembly. Loosen the lower steering boss cover.
