REAR LEAF SPRING (for 4WD and Pre-Runner) DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE REAR LEAF SPRING SHACKLE LOWER BUSH


    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 bushes from the spring shackle or spring.

  2. REMOVE REAR LEAF SPRING SHACKLE UPPER BUSH


    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 bushes from the spring shackle or vehicle body.

  3. DISASSEMBLE REAR SPRING ASSEMBLY

      Secure the rear leaf spring assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.

    2. Using a brass bar and hammer, pry open the 4 spring clips of the rear No. 3 leaf spring.

      Note

      Do not damage the leaf spring.

      Secure the spring with a vise as shown in the illustration.

    4. Remove the nut and center bolt.

    5. for TSAM Made Double Cab:

      Remove the 3 rear spring leaf spacers.

    6. for TMT Made:

      Remove the 2 rear No. 3 spring spacers.

    7. Remove the No. 1 spring spacer.

  4. REMOVE REAR SPRING SILENCER


    1. Remove the 4 rear spring silencers from the leaf spring.

  5. REMOVE REAR SPRING LEAF BUSH


    1. Fix the spring with a vise.

      Using a metal saw, cut the both ends of the bush.

    3. A01DYRKE01

      Using SST and a press, press out the 2 bushes.

      Using a chisel and hammer, tap out the 2 outer tubes.
