STARTER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the starter assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      46 N*m  { 469 kgf*cm, 34 ft.*lbf }

    2. Connect the starter connector.

    3. Connect the starter wire with the nut.

      Torque:
      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }

    4. Connect the terminal cap.

  2. INSTALL FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER

      Insert the protruding portion into the end of the cylinder block sub-assembly and fit the claw into the No. 2 oil pan sub-assembly.

      Note


      • Make sure the claw makes a click sound, indicating that it fits tightly.

      • Replace the flywheel housing side cover with a new one if the claw does not fit tightly or is deformed.

  3. INSTALL TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER BRACKET


  4. CONNECT OIL COOLER


    1. B008HV5N01

      Connect the oil cooler to the transmission oil cooler bracket with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      13.5 N*m  { 138 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Tightening order: Temporarily tighten bolt (A) → Fully tighten bolt (B) → Fully tighten bolt (A)

  5. INSTALL BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT


    1. Install the battery bracket reinforcement with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

  6. INSTALL BATTERY CARRIER ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the battery carrier assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

    2. Attach the 3 wire harness clamps.

  7. CONNECT RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the radiator hose sub-assembly to the battery carrier assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      18.5 N*m  { 189 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

  8. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY

  9. INSTALL BATTERY

  10. INSTALL BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Attach the hook of the battery clamp sub-assembly to the battery carrier assembly.

    2. Partially tighten the nut and temporarily install the bolt.

    3. Adjust the battery clamp sub-assembly position.

    4. Tighten the nut and bolt.

      Torque:
      for bolt
      16.5 N*m  { 168 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf }
      for nut
      4.9 N*m  { 50 kgf*cm, 43 in.*lbf }

  11. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP AND HOSE

  12. INSTALL NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

  13. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER

    Click here

  14. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  15. CONNECT CABLE TO POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  16. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
