FRONT WIPER MOTOR INSTALLATION
PROCEDURE
INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
Install the windshield wiper motor assembly with the 3 bolts.

Windshield Wiper Crank Pivot
Apply MP grease to the windshield wiper crank pivot of the windshield wiper motor and link assembly.

Connect the No. 1 windshield wiper link rod to the windshield wiper crank pivot of the windshield wiper motor and link assembly.
INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
Connect the connector.

Motor Grommet
Engage the motor grommet as shown in the illustration.
Note:Be careful not to damage the windshield when installing the windshield wiper motor and link assembly.
Install the windshield wiper motor and link assembly with the 2 bolts.

Engage the 2 clamps.
INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback, Wagon)
Engage the 8 guides as shown in the illustration.
Engage the 3 guides and 6 claws to install the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
Install the 2 clips.
INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Sedan)
Engage the 8 guides as shown in the illustration.
Engage the 3 guides and 6 claws to install the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
Install the 2 clips.
INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SIDE PANEL PROTECTOR LH (for Hatchback, Wagon)
Engage the claw to install the front No. 2 side panel protector LH.
Install the clip.
INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SIDE PANEL PROTECTOR RH (for Hatchback, Wagon)
Engage the 2 claws to install the front No. 2 side panel protector RH.
Install the clip.
INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR GRILLE SEAL LH (for Sedan)

Install the No. 1 radiator grille seal LH as shown in the illustration.
Install the clip.

INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR GRILLE SEAL RH (for Sedan)
Tip:Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH (for Hatchback, Wagon)
Clean the front fender.
Remove the double-sided tape from the front fender.
Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
Remove the release paper from a new front fender to cowl side seal LH.
Tip:After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

Engage the 3 guides as shown in the illustration.
Engage the 2 claws.

Double-sided Tape
Engage the double-sided tape to install the front fender to cowl side seal LH.
INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH (for Hatchback, Wagon)
Tip:Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SIDE PANEL PROTECTOR LH (for Sedan)
Clean the front fender.
Remove the double-sided tape from the front fender.
Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
Remove the release paper from a new front No. 2 side panel protector LH.
Tip:After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

Engage the claw and 2 guides as shown in the illustration.

Double-sided Tape
Engage the double-sided tape to install the front No. 2 side panel protector LH.
Engage the 2 claws and guide.
INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SIDE PANEL PROTECTOR RH (for Sedan)
Tip:Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH

Wiper Arm Serration
When reusing the windshield wiper arm and blade assembly LH:
Clean the wiper arm serrations to remove any burrs, dirt, etc.
Note:Do not grind down the wiper arm serrations.

Wiper Pivot Serration
When reusing the windshield wiper link assembly:
Clean the wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush.
Operate the wiper and stop the windshield wiper motor assembly at the automatic stop position.

Install the windshield wiper arm and blade assembly LH with the nut to the position shown in the illustration.

Tip:Hold the wiper arm by hand while tightening the nut.

Tip:Hold the wiper arm by hand while tightening the nut.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Operate the windshield wiper while spraying washer fluid onto the windshield glass. Make sure that the windshield wiper functions properly and the wiper does not come into contact with the vehicle body.
Lift each wiper arm twice after the wipers stop and check the wiper set position.
Turn the ignition switch off.

INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP

Engage the 3 claws to install the front wiper arm head cap.
Tip:Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
