VACUUM PUMP(for 8AR-FTS) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL VACUUM PUMP ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. When using a new vacuum pump assembly:

      
      
      1. 

         *1	No. 2 O-ring
         *2	No. 3 O-ring
         	Engine oil

         Apply engine oil to the No. 3 O-ring installed in a new vacuum pump assembly.

         Note

         Do not apply engine oil to the No. 2 O-ring.

   2. When reusing the vacuum pump assembly:

      
      
      1. 

         *1	No. 2 O-ring
         *2	No. 3 O-ring
         	Engine oil

         Install a new No. 2 O-ring to the vacuum pump assembly.

      2. Apply engine oil to a new No. 3 O-ring and install it to the vacuum pump assembly.

         Note

         Do not apply engine oil to the No. 2 O-ring.

   3. Apply engine oil to the inner surface of the installation hole.

   4. 

      *a	Coupling Teeth
      *b	Groove

      Install the vacuum pump assembly so that the oil pipe engages with the hole of the camshaft and the coupling teeth with the grooves on the camshaft tip.

      Note

      
      

      • Ensure that the vacuum pump assembly is installed securely.

      • Be careful not to pinch the O-ring.

   5. 

      Install the vacuum pump assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:

      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      After installation, check that there are no gaps between the matching surfaces and that the vacuum pump assembly is not installed at an angle.

2. CONNECT NO. 2 VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Connect the No. 2 vacuum transmitting hose assembly to the vacuum pump assembly.

3. CONNECT VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE HOSE ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Connect the vacuum switching valve hose assembly, and slide the clip to secure it.

4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

5. INSTALL AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

6. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

   Click here

7. INSTALL INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

8. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

9. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

10. INSPECT VACUUM PUMP OPERATION
